Supplemental Information
System Information
  • Survivor - Caught behind enemy lines when the Uprising began, Nora spent significant time with the human resistance on Leonis before being rescued by TF: Manticore a few months ago.
  • Amateur Macguyver - Growing up, Nora was raised to make the best of what was available, and her success at scrounging and tinkering won her a scholarship. This skill came of use again on Leonis, where she helped cobble together repairs for essential electronics and construct makeshift explosives.
  • Tin Spoon - The stereotypical Virgan is a fabulously wealthy and aristocratic prick who was born with a whole silver dining set, but Nora doesn't have the posh accent or blueblooded pedigree, instead hailing from a remote mining town in the back country.

Nora Macaria Skinner was born in a small mining town on the coast of the Bodmin peninsula in rural Virgon. Her family struggled to get by, but they did better than some, and learned to pitch in and make do. Nora showed an early aptitude for academics, particularly science, and through her participation in science fairs and competitions she won a scholarship to attend a prestigious boarding school for secondary school. She spent four difficult years at Hambledon Academy discovering that while she was certainly very smart, she was only a genius prodigy by the measures of her substandard rural school, which had not prepared her very well for the rigors of an elite academy.

By the end of it she had caught up but was eager to escape the cutthroat upper crust and the prospect of further debt, but knew her family was counting on her to follow through with the dream of completing university. She enrolled in the Virgan Naval Academy and while there discovered the possibility of flying. She attended Flight School after graduating, was funnelled into the Viper pipeline, and finished in the top quarter of her class. She volunteered for a couple tours with the ICJPK for the hazard pay, but also spent time on patrol in Virgan space nabbing the occasional smuggler or pirate.

Nora was promoted to Lieutenant on schedule in 2235, and was taking a celebratory vacation on Leonis when the Cylon uprising began. Caught unprepared behind enemy lines, she was lucky to survive long enough to fall in with a budding resistance group. She spent almost two years fighting with the human resistance factions before she and a group of others were able to escape to a human-controlled rural zone that Cylons hadn't overrun. She was picked up by Task Force Manticore in May 2237, and transported back to Virgon. Technically her five years of service had expired, but she chose to renew her commission, and after several months of rehabilitation, in August she was assigned to the Timber Wolves.

Of only average height and with a lean, wiry build, Nora's most distinguishing feature is her red hair, especially in contrast to the pallor of her skin. Her cheekbones are high, her chin pointed, and all over is a liberal scattering of freckles. Blue eyes are quick and sharp, her wide mouth marked by faint smile-lines around it. A tattoo depicting twining stems of asphodel curls up her left shoulder. She appears to be in her late 20s or early 30s.
